The Arrows of the Word group started in 1994 as a result of the Holy Spirit working through two men in a Bible Study at Lake Pleasant United Methodist Church. The original group was only two, with no official name.
The group expanded soon to four members and continued to grow to what it is today. Neither of the original two members are involved with the current "Arrows of the Word" music ministry.
The group's name came as an unexpected blessing early in the life of the ministry. During a discussion with a Baptist Pastor after a concert, we talked about how we went out in all directions spreading the Word. The Pastor commented that it was like arrows shooting out everywhere, carrying the Word of God. Thus, the "ARROWS OF THE WORD" came to be. Though many members of the group have come and gone, the name and purpose has been with us since about 1995. Many who left the group have continued to shoot out with the Word in still more areas of song and ministry.
The Arrows have traveled mostly in northeastern New York and Vermont. Venues include churches, parks, town halls, schools, charity events, nursing homes, and several appearances in the Vermont State Fair.
